Taste of Charlotte Is Coming to Uptown This June

The 25th annual festival brings together the best restaurants, live music, and family fun for a three-day celebration of Charlotte's culinary scene

Summer in Charlotte officially kicks off with one of the city's most beloved traditions.

The 25th Annual Taste of Charlotte returns to Uptown Charlotte from June 5-7, 2026, bringing with it the flavors, sounds, and energy that make the Queen City special. This three-day festival transforms Tryon Street into a pedestrian paradise of food, music, and community.

If you love Charlotte restaurants, live music, or just need a reason to explore Uptown, mark your calendar now.

A Quarter Century of Flavor

Twenty-five years is a long time for any event to thrive.

Taste of Charlotte has not just survived. It has grown into one of the region's premier food festivals, drawing thousands of visitors each year to sample dishes from the area's best restaurants.

The festival spans Tryon Street from Trade Street to Brooklyn Village Avenue, creating a walkable corridor of culinary delights. More than 100 menu items will be available for sampling, representing the diverse flavors that make Charlotte's food scene so exciting.

From Southern comfort food to international cuisine, there's something to satisfy every craving.

How It Works

Admission to Taste of Charlotte is completely free.

Here's how the festival works. Visitors purchase a Tasting Coin Cup for $20, which includes 14 coins. These coins are your currency for food, beverages, and kids' activities throughout the festival.

Individual menu items typically cost between 2-5 coins, allowing you to sample a wide variety of dishes without breaking the bank. You can purchase coin cups on-site or download the Taste of Charlotte app to buy them digitally.

It's a simple system that lets you customize your festival experience. Want to try a little bit of everything? Go for it. Have your eye on one particular dish? Load up on coins and indulge.

Three Stages of Entertainment

Food is just the beginning.

Taste of Charlotte features three stages of live entertainment throughout the weekend. The Main Stage at Levine Avenue and Tryon Street hosts local bands, dance troupes, and special performances all three days.

The Tavern Stage at Trade and Tryon Streets features Blazin' Keys Dueling Pianos, bringing interactive musical entertainment to the heart of the festival. Sing along, make requests, and enjoy the show.

At the Wine Cellar Stage on 3rd and Tryon Streets, you'll find a mix of acoustic acts, local bands, and cultural performances. The Charlotte Chorale and other local groups add a touch of sophistication to the festivities.

Family Fun Zone

Taste of Charlotte is designed for all ages.

The Kids' Zone on Levine Avenue features activities that will keep the little ones entertained for hours. A giant slide, rock climbing wall, crazy chase obstacle course, gyro ride, and bull ride are just a few of the attractions available.

Each activity requires 2-5 coins, or you can purchase an unlimited activity wristband for $20 on Friday and Saturday, or $15 on Sunday. Sunday is designated Family Fun Day, with character meet-and-greets adding extra magic for the kids.

The festival also includes a marketplace where local artists and artisans sell paintings, hand-painted hats, candles, and unique gifts. It's a great place to find a souvenir or support local makers.

Festival Hours

Mark your calendars for these times.

Friday, June 5: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Saturday, June 6: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Sunday, June 7: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The extended hours on Friday and Saturday give you plenty of time to sample everything the festival has to offer. Sunday's earlier closing time makes it perfect for families with young children.

Why Taste of Charlotte Matters

In a city that's growing as fast as Charlotte, events like this help us stay connected.

Taste of Charlotte brings together restaurants from across the metro area, many of them small, locally-owned businesses that deserve our support. It gives chefs a chance to showcase their signature dishes to thousands of potential new customers.

The festival also highlights Uptown Charlotte as a destination. With so many people living in the suburbs, Taste of Charlotte draws them back to the city center, reminding us why Uptown is worth visiting.

And perhaps most importantly, it creates memories. The smell of grilled food, the sound of live music, the laughter of kids on the rides. These are the moments that define a city's character.

Twenty-five years in, Taste of Charlotte has become more than a food festival. It's a Charlotte institution. Don't miss it.
